IMPORTANT KS DEVELOPMENTS

HDSP

AES EBU

An asymmetric waveguide which allows sound projection to a well defined listening area.          Digital audio signals with this standard are automatically detected by KS CPD system controllers.

FIRTEC DSP

ETHERCON

The time alignment as well as phase and level correction, individually measured for every produced speaker system, results in a high and constant sound-quality.

Integrated network switches allow daisy-chaining the amplifers in an Ethernet.

AUTOCURVE

8 × 10″ SUBWOOFER

Line array elements are curved by a servo motor drive via pc-software, while at the same time the necessary equalization is calculated and sent to the audio controller.         The only subwoofer with eight stiff and fast small diaphragms – for clearest deep and powerful sound

AUTOLOCK

GEARDRIVE

The curving of a line array must not be done before it is lifted up. By pulling the aligning rope, the curving preset is automatically locked.         Curving an installed line array via the integrated gear, driven by a standard battery screwdriver.

COAXIAL ON SEPARATING PLATE

THE ORIGINAL SATELLITE SYSTEM

The coaxially mounted tweeter is isolated acoustically from the low-frequency diaphragm by a perforated plate. This avoids notches in the frequency spectrum, generated by reflected sound energy.         Using only one floor-standing mono subwoofer is the most effective way to produce the bass energy for a smaller sound reinforcement system, while mid and high frequencies are reproduced in stereo by small speakers – the satellites. This principle – with built-in electronics in the subwoofer cabinet – was developed by the founder of KS 40 years ago

UNIPOL/DIPOL

A subwoofer design that allows to use the speaker in cardioid mode as well as omnidirectional.
